Tan-y-Bryn is a four-bay cruck house dated to 1360, the earliest domestic cruck so far recorded in Hampshire. It is half-hipped at both ends where there is evidence for truncated crucks that have not survived. The inner trusses have full crucks that rise to saddles. The hall truss, which has a moulded arch brace to the collar, shows pretensions of elegance. The curved wind braces are approximately 3 inches thick which may be an indicator of an early date.
